windows phone7 in modern technology
Microsoft's new mobile operating system-Windows Phone 7-has already launched on AT & T and T-Mobile's networks and looks set to appear on Verizon Wireless and Sprint this coming January. Rumors that claim Verizon will receive WP7 in the first quarter of 2011 have been swirling and according to claims by NeoWin, Sprint and Verizon customers can get in on all the new Windows mobile fun a lot sooner than expected. Ready for CDMA compatible WP7 in a month guys and girls?
The website thinks that the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas this coming January will be the perfect place for Microsoft to announce the arrival of CDMA phones that run its new smart phone operating system. It's a solid guesstimate. (Microsoft approves apparently since Office 2010 says guesstimate is a real word ...) CES has always been a place where new technologies and announcements make an appearance. Who could ask for a bigger stage?
Backing up the assumption that CDMA WP7 phones are very much on their way, a leaked flyer from Microsoft has already named the HTC Trophy as one of the first WP7 devices to head for Verizon. Similarly, the HTC 7 Pro is expected to arrive on Sprint's network. Expect a lot more devices to come out for both networks and especially Verizon since it is the biggest carrier in the United States.
HTC's 7 Pro for Sprint:
The HTC 7 Pro runs WP7 and features a tilting, horizontally sliding QWERTY keyboard, a 1 GHz 'Snapdragon' processor, a 3.6 "touchscreen at Microsoft's mandated 800 × 480 pixel resolution and a 5 megapixel camera. Nothing too fancy, just the specs we've all come to expect from a high-end smart phone by now. Also expect 720p HD video recording since that seems to be a requirement for WP7.
HTC's Trophy for Verizon:
The HTC Trophy is already available in a GSM version and avalible to AT & T and T-Mobile. As with all WP7 devices right now, it has an 800 × 480 screen resolution but at a slightly larger 3.8 "diagonal size than the 7 Pro. The Trophy also packs a 1 GHz Snapdragon processor and has 720p HD video recording abilities through its 5 megapixel camera. Unlike the 7 Pro however, it's touchscreen only and lacks a physical
keyboard.
